Healthy planet, healthy people.

Sustainability is vital for ensuring the long-term health and well-being of both our planet and its inhabitants. At Nature’s Way Canada, we’ve taken steps to conserve and protect the environment, reduce waste and pollution, and transition to renewable energy sources. This helps to reduce the impact of our activities on the planet, helping to preserve the delicate ecosystems and biodiversity that are so crucial to our survival.

Here’s a snapshot of some of our sustainability initiatives:

- Eliminating PPE waste: we’ve set up a Safety Equipment and Protective Gear Zero Waste Box from Terracycle. We are thrilled to reduce the amount of PPE, especially disposable face masks which have had a significant impact on the natural environment.

- Offsetting our carbon footprint: by using 100% clean, renewable energy from Bullfrog Power to power our operations, we’re able to reduce the carbon emissions footprint of our business operations by 96 tonnes every year

- Using recyclable materials: our NutraSea and NutraVege liquid bottles use 100% recyclable glass, while our softgel containers are made of 100% post-consumer recycled plastic

- Sourcing from sustainable ingredients: through our affiliation with the non-profit Friends of the Sea, NutraSea can provide customers with quality supplements derived solely from sustainable ingredients.

Our omega-3 brands play a key role in our sustainability efforts. Both NutraSea and NutraVege donate a portion of profits to 1% for the Planet an international organization whose members contribute at least one percent of their annual revenue to environmental causes to protect the environment. Through our 1% for the Planet, we’ve donated over $1 million since 2002 to a range of organizations including the Marine Animal Response Society and The Nova Scotia Nature Trust – with employee-directed contributions to a variety of sustainability causes.

A healthier planet also means healthier people. By reducing pollution and waste, we can reduce exposure to harmful toxins and improve air and water quality. Sustainability also has a positive impact on our mental and emotional well-being, as we begin to feel more connected to the natural world and take pride in our efforts to protect it. By taking action on sustainability, we can create a more equitable and livable world for generations to come.
